Hey girls!

Prijs?
€0,49 (!) dus echt een koopje! Een echte aanrader!

Wat vinden jullie van dit lakje?

Hey girls!

Ever since the Essie brand started being sold in Kruidvat, I have had my eye on them. The only thing stopping me was the high price tag.

When you can get a decent nailpolish for €2 or €3, the Essie polishes just are a little too expensive for me, costing €11 a piece.

Now 2 weeks ago, my cousin found this great deal on Essie products on Bol.com and we decided to buy some. You could buy 3 nail polishes for €20 so that's about €6,50 per polish, which is a much better price.

My cousin chose Guchi Muchi Puchi and Lavender:

I chose Bahama Mama:

I had been looking for a purple shade of nail polish for a long time and this one looked like the color I had in mind.

The color is really pretty but even so, I'm not completely satisfied with it.
To get this color I had to apply 3 coats. Your €11 bottle will be empty fast if you always have to apply 3 coats!

Another element I was not pleased with was the coverage: the polish stays thick in some places and much lighter in other places which of course does not look nice.

The durability, on the other hand, is good. I have been wearing this polish for 4 days now and it has not started chipping yet. I did apply one coat of see trough top coat nail polish.

Even though the color is pretty and the polish stays on the nails for quite some days, I had expected more of Essie.

I keep finding gorgeous pictures on the internet of Bahama Mama covered nails, but I can't get my nails looking that gorgeous.

So would I buy another Essie polish in the future?
If it is on sale and if it is a color I really love, I might.

Have you girls bought an Essie polish yet?
What is your opinion about it?

Hey girls!

Lately I have really started to love colored eyeliners.

Throughout the years I have collected a few but I haven't really used them much mostly because I did not really know how to use them.

Yesterday I bought 4 new ones in Kruidvat and I want to share them with you. Plus I'll add those I already had also.

The majority of my coloured eyeliners are from Essence. They are creamy, have a lot of color and a creamy texture. Plus they are really cheap! I think I bought them for €1,50€ a piece.

I also own 1 Nivea and 2 Catrice eyeliners.

(Click on the pictures for a closer look!)

Let's start of with the first 3: (from top to bottom)
- Essence 11 Go Wild
- Catrice 090 Gold Me Tight!
- Essence 12 I Have a Green

The next 3:
- Catrice 080 Wildthing
- Essence 09 Cool Down
- Essence 05 C'est La Vie!

And the last 3:
- Nivea 08 Khaki
- Essence 08 Touch of Glam
- Essence 06 Seventh Heaven
As you can see the pigmentation is really good and they stay put quite long. When I tried to remove them of my hand, I had to get a make-up remover tissue cause they didn't completely want to disappear.

My favorite colors of the moment are : I Have a Green, Cool down, Touch of Glam and Gold Me Tight!

Now the only thing left to do, is figure out some nice looks with these gorgeous colors!

Where can you find them?
Essence and Catrice are sold in Kruidvat
Nivea can be found in Kruidvat and most department stores.

Price?
The Catrice ones I bought on sale this week for €1 each
The Essence liners cost around €1,50 a piece
The Nivea liner I got as a gift so I don't know the price exactly.

Do you girls use colored eyeliners?

Hey girls!

Last night I decided to try out a new color of nailpolish: green!
I had recently bought it but hadn't tried it out yet and I have to say I'm pleased with the result!

I'm wearing Walk on the wild side (nr 139) by Essence.

Hey girls!

Today I want to show you a few new eyeshadows I have bought this week.

Shame on me, I don't remember the name of the shop where I bought it.

But I suspect this brand can be found in many shops in the Abdijstraat in Antwerp since I bought it there. It was a shop I had previously never entered so I did not pay attention to the name of the shop.

I had seen this brand before but did not expect much of it so I never bothered to buy any to try them out. Now there were some testers and to my surprise they quality seemed to be really good.

The colors were nice as well but not really what I usually go for. As you all know by now, my go-to look leans more towards natural nude colors but the pigmentation of these shadows was just amazing so I decided to try a few shades which I did not yet own.

As you can see, I chose 5 color that really differ from each other.
The shades didn't have names, only numbers.
I bought: number 3, 6, 8, 10 and 11.

I swatched them for you and you will see what I mean with great pigmentation! It's crazy and all of this for €1,50 per shade.

I still need to create some looks with them and wear them throughout the day, to see if they are also durable or if they fade after an hour.
An update will follow later on ;)

Now, check out the swatches! Click on the pictures for a closer look!

Number 3
: white

Number 6: purple

Number 8
: lime green

Number 10: brown
Number 11: greyish blue
My favorites are the purple, the lime green and the greyish blue shades. I just love how pigmented they are! And they aren't colors I would usually buy so I'm pleased with my purchase, it's a nice addition to what I already have.
Which shade do you like best?

Hey girls!

When I went to Kruidvat yesterday I noticed Catrice had a bunch of new polishes at their stand and they looked gorgeous!

Catrice renewed all of their nail polishes, one a little more than the other and added a few new colors to their selection.

They state the folllowing on their website:

Thanks to the new Gloss Booster technology, the next generation of Ultimate Nail Lacquers is extremely convincing with a high-shine finish, perfect coverage and ultra-long durability. With the innovative reservoir brush, you can colour your nails with just one stroke. Free of formaldehyde, toluene or phthalates.

Tested and loved: 9 out of 10 women love* the perfect COVERAGE, ultimate SHINE and long DURABILITY.
* Consumer test with 100 women, 2013
I bought the colors 37 The Effect Maker and 36 Mint Me Up.
The polishes have a real pretty pearly shine and just look gorgeous.
I usually go for nude, pink or red colors so it was no surprise I chose The Effect Maker.

Mint Me Up, on the other hand, is a color I would not usually buy. I think the mint color is nice and I love how it looks on other girls but I'm always afraid to wear it on my nails.

But this color looked so nice with that pearly shine and little tiny glitters in it so I couldn't resist.

Take a look at the swatches.

Hey girls!

Today I want to share a cool make-up storage products with you.

A while ago I ordered the BH Cosmetics Bag and I think it's a great way of storing your make-up goodies.

It's also perfect for when you are traveling or on the go.

Let's take a look at it!

The bag has 2 large compartments: the lower one to stash your palettes and other goodies and top one to store your brushes and smaller items.

You can see the top compartment in the picture below.

I just love how it has this special space where you can put all your brushes and they stay pretty, clean and organized. It just looks fancy!
Next to the brush area, there is a little side compartment with a zipper and see-through netting so you can store smaller items in there and still have an overview of what exactly is in there.

The lower compartment of the bag is one big open space to store palettes, foundations, etc

What I love about it, is the size: it fits my Naked Palettes perfectly! I can never go on vacation without one of them so I am always struggling to find the perfect storage, which I have now found! It even fits my Luxbeauties 72 color eyeshadow palette!

Take a look at how much it holds!

Hey girls!

Today I want to talk about one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes ever: the Urban Decay Naked 1.

I bought it about 2 years ago when I went on a trip to London with my mom.

The palette is a little pricy: I paid £30 for it which is about 50$, I think, but I haven't had a moment of regret!

The palette is just awesome, super pigmented and a little goes a long way!

When I bought the palette, it came with a double sided eyeliner pencil in the colors Zero and Bourbon. It also included a miniature Urban Decay Primer Potion.

The palette consists of 12 different shades: 2 matte and 10 shimmer.
I swatched them for you guys, so check it out:

Aren't they gorgeous?

The two matte colors are Naked and Buck. I don't use these colors as eyeshadows but more for contouring my face, so it's nice when you are traveling or you don't have to bring an extra set for contouring.

My two most used colors are the very first two: Virgin and Sin. They are just lovely! I have been using them on daily basis for months and they are still about 2/3 full.

Well, all the colors look amazing actually, and the pigmentation is crazy!
I just pressed down my finger on the eyeshadow, I didn't rub, just pressed down: and what you see on the pictures is the result.

With Urban Decay, a little truly goes a long way!

I like that the palette has more neutral (naked) colors but also a few darker ones such as  Gunmetal, Creep and Hustle. That way you can still intensify or darken your look, for example when going from day to night make-up after work or for a special dinner date.

It's a very versatile palette and it's quite small in size so it's possible to take it with you on the go for touch-ups. However, the eyeshadows are very long lasting and stay put for hours. If you combine the eyeshadows with the Urban Decay Primer Potion, touch-ups won't be necessary!

After my experience with the Naked Palette 1, I have been considering buying the Naked Palette 2 as well, but we'll talk about that at a later date :)
Where can I find this palette?
It's not available in Belgium, but in the Sephora in Maastricht ( NL) it is available or you can always order online from e.g. :

What do you guys think about this product?
Would you buy it?

Hey girls,

Yesterday I have bought three products of Beauty UK.

If you want to see some swatches and if you want to know what I think about them, keep on reading!

I had heard about Beauty UK before but I had never bought any products of this brand yet until I found a web shop that offered some of their products.

The webshop is called http://www.luxbeauties.com/
The shop offers a variety of make-up products of brands such as Beauty UK, MeMeMe, L'oreal, Maybelline and Hoola.

The Beauty UK products looked really nice and were within my price range ( they are very inexpensive!) so i decided to try out some stuff.

I ordered :
Eyeshadow Collection - Number 4 Earth Child
Lip Lust - Number 3 Date Night
Metallic Eye Spark - shade: Gold

I will start my review with the Metallic Eye Spark.
This product comes as a jumbo eyeshadow pencil with writing in the color of the actual shade.

The packaging is nice and actually kind of cute with the little hearts all over it.

The texture of the eyeshadow is a little creamy and it glides right on when you apply it, the color is a beautiful shade of gold with a little sparkle to it.

The second product i bought was the Lip Lust in Date Night.

This lip gloss has a nice tip to apply the product with and the tube lies easily in your hand.

The texture is creamy and it gives a hydrated feel to the lips. And above all: it does not have that sticky icky texture many lip glosses seem to have.

The color can be build up by applying more or less gloss and a normal amount gives you the result you can see below.

When I was contemplating my purchase, I was doubting if Date Night would be a good lip color for since my skin is a little tanned and I have dark eyes and dark hair but I have made the right decision by buying it cause it looks gorgeous! It has a pink but still quite nude color which is exactly what I like.

The third item i ordered was the Eyeshadow Collection - Nr 4 Earth Child.

I love the size of this palette! It's small enough to take with you while traveling or when you are on the go and need some touch-ups.

The palette contains a two-sides shadow applicator and a small strip of built in mirror ( which is also nice to have when you're out and about all day long) and most importantly it contains 8 eyeshadows.

As you can see, the palette really got named correctly: most shades are neutral, nature colors going from browns to greens, to grey and black.

The pigmentation is good but I have eyeshadows that give me more product with one sweep but for the price I am not complaining.
Plus: when I applied the shades with a brush later on, the pigmentation looked great and there was no problem at all.

My favorite shades are the third of the upper row, which is a brown color with a purple/bordeaux undertone, and the fourth of the second row, which is a white beige color.

Swatches below ( Click on the pictures for a closer view!)

I have created a look today using the eyeshadow palette and the lip lust.
From the shades I used: the third and firth of the upper row and the first and the fourth of the second row.

I have to say I am pretty pleased with the results and the products.

Also the service at Luxbeauties is super, so for the Belgian girls who are interested in cosmetics, pay them a visit!
Plus: they ship all over Europe!

Where did  I buy these products?
Luxbeauties

Price?
eyeshadow palette Earth Child: 5€
Lip lust in Date Night: 3,99€
Metallic Spark Pencil: 3,99€

Would you try out these products? What other Beauty UK products do you girls like?

Hey ladies!

Yesterday I paid my weekly visit to one of my favorite shops here in Belgium, namely Kruidvat.

Last week I noticed the new Limited Edition of Catrice Cosmetics was available but had already, pretty much, been plundered.

I did get my hands on the Cream Brush in the shade: Discreet Artist, which is the lightest of the 3 colors available. The blushes were already the product of this limited edition that interested me the most so I was pleased I got one of the blushes to try out.
The three shades carry the following names:

Light pink: Dicreet Artist
Pink: Picked Cherry Blossoms
Red: Madam Butterfly
Before I could start testing it out, I did not really know what the best way is to apply cream blush. I tried with my blush brush, which turned out to be a bad choice.

I have discovered that for me the best way to blend the blush well is to apply it with 2 clean(!) fingers. I use my index finger and my middle finger and gently pat the blush onto my cheek.

If you apply too much or have a hard time blending things out evenly, you can use a beauty blender or a make-up sponge to take off the excess or to blend things out.

In the video I added at the end of this article you can see one of my favorite make-up guru's talk about applying cream blush.

I love the color of Discreet Artist, because it gives a healthy but yet subtle flush to the cheeks. The other two shades are too bright in my opinion but I guess if you dose it right, it can look pretty as well.
I'm absolutely in love with this blush and I have been wearing every day this week and I have a feeling it will stay my favorite blush for quite some time.
Yesterday I paid my weekly visit to Kruidvat in another establishment than the one I usually go to and to my surprise they still had a few items of this Limited Edition, so I grabbed me another Discreet Artist!

If you don't know how to apply the blush right from the first time, don't give up! After a few times it will come natural. The video below might help!
Where can I find these blushes?
You can temporarily find them in establishments of Kruidvat in Belgium, The Netherlands.

Price?
3,99€
