Hey girls!

Today I want to talk about one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes ever: the Urban Decay Naked 1.

I bought it about 2 years ago when I went on a trip to London with my mom.

The palette is a little pricy: I paid £30 for it which is about 50$, I think, but I haven't had a moment of regret!

The palette is just awesome, super pigmented and a little goes a long way!

When I bought the palette, it came with a double sided eyeliner pencil in the colors Zero and Bourbon. It also included a miniature Urban Decay Primer Potion.

The palette consists of 12 different shades: 2 matte and 10 shimmer.
I swatched them for you guys, so check it out:

Aren't they gorgeous?

The two matte colors are Naked and Buck. I don't use these colors as eyeshadows but more for contouring my face, so it's nice when you are traveling or you don't have to bring an extra set for contouring.

My two most used colors are the very first two: Virgin and Sin. They are just lovely! I have been using them on daily basis for months and they are still about 2/3 full.

Well, all the colors look amazing actually, and the pigmentation is crazy!
I just pressed down my finger on the eyeshadow, I didn't rub, just pressed down: and what you see on the pictures is the result.

With Urban Decay, a little truly goes a long way!

I like that the palette has more neutral (naked) colors but also a few darker ones such as  Gunmetal, Creep and Hustle. That way you can still intensify or darken your look, for example when going from day to night make-up after work or for a special dinner date.

It's a very versatile palette and it's quite small in size so it's possible to take it with you on the go for touch-ups. However, the eyeshadows are very long lasting and stay put for hours. If you combine the eyeshadows with the Urban Decay Primer Potion, touch-ups won't be necessary!

After my experience with the Naked Palette 1, I have been considering buying the Naked Palette 2 as well, but we'll talk about that at a later date :)
Where can I find this palette?
It's not available in Belgium, but in the Sephora in Maastricht ( NL) it is available or you can always order online from e.g. :
http://www.beautybay.com

What do you guys think about this product?
Would you buy it?

Hey girls!

Since it is winter and it's cold and snowy outside ( yes, even now that it's almost march!), our hair and our skin goes through hard times.

I noticed my skin was dry and could use some hydration so I decided to make my homemade face and body scrub to scrub away they dead skin cells, stimulate my blood flow and revive my skins.

It doesn't mean the weather is bleak, that your skin should be as well... and what's more pleasant than pampering yourself under a hot shower while snow is twirling down outside?

Let's start with what you'll need to prepare this scrub:

2 table spoons of fine white sugar
♥ 2 table spoons of castor sugar / brown sugar
♥ 2 table spoons of lemon juice ( or less if you like it more chunky)
♥ half a table spoon of your favorite body/hair oil
♥ a spoon
♥ a little jar or cup

Let's continue step by step:

Picture

♥ Take your little jar or cup.

♥ Add in both the white and             brown sugar .

♥ Mix well.

Picture

♥ Add a spoon of lemon juice.

♥ Mix.

♥ Add the second spoon of            lemon juice.

♥ Mix everything.

If you want the prepare this for a facial scrub: you are done!
If you have very dry skin you could put in the oil for use on your face but since I have combination to oily skin, I don't think it's a good idea for me to add in oil.

If you want a hydrating body scrub: go on with the next step!
Picture

♥ Take the oil of your choosing.
I used cactus oil cause I love     the smell of it.

♥ Add in half a table spoon.

♥ Mix everything well and voila!
            You are done!

Picture

♥ Now hop into your shower...

♥... and scrub, scrub away!

♥ Afterwards your skin will feel soft and super hydrated.

Enjoy!

Hey girls,

Yesterday I have bought three products of Beauty UK.

If you want to see some swatches and if you want to know what I think about them, keep on reading!

I had heard about Beauty UK before but I had never bought any products of this brand yet until I found a web shop that offered some of their products.

The webshop is called http://www.luxbeauties.com/
The shop offers a variety of make-up products of brands such as Beauty UK, MeMeMe, L'oreal, Maybelline and Hoola.

The Beauty UK products looked really nice and were within my price range ( they are very inexpensive!) so i decided to try out some stuff.

I ordered :
Eyeshadow Collection - Number 4 Earth Child
Lip Lust - Number 3 Date Night
Metallic Eye Spark - shade: Gold

I will start my review with the Metallic Eye Spark.
This product comes as a jumbo eyeshadow pencil with writing in the color of the actual shade.

The packaging is nice and actually kind of cute with the little hearts all over it.

The texture of the eyeshadow is a little creamy and it glides right on when you apply it, the color is a beautiful shade of gold with a little sparkle to it.

The second product i bought was the Lip Lust in Date Night.

This lip gloss has a nice tip to apply the product with and the tube lies easily in your hand.

The texture is creamy and it gives a hydrated feel to the lips. And above all: it does not have that sticky icky texture many lip glosses seem to have.

The color can be build up by applying more or less gloss and a normal amount gives you the result you can see below.

When I was contemplating my purchase, I was doubting if Date Night would be a good lip color for since my skin is a little tanned and I have dark eyes and dark hair but I have made the right decision by buying it cause it looks gorgeous! It has a pink but still quite nude color which is exactly what I like.

The third item i ordered was the Eyeshadow Collection - Nr 4 Earth Child.

I love the size of this palette! It's small enough to take with you while traveling or when you are on the go and need some touch-ups.

The palette contains a two-sides shadow applicator and a small strip of built in mirror ( which is also nice to have when you're out and about all day long) and most importantly it contains 8 eyeshadows.

As you can see, the palette really got named correctly: most shades are neutral, nature colors going from browns to greens, to grey and black.

The pigmentation is good but I have eyeshadows that give me more product with one sweep but for the price I am not complaining.
Plus: when I applied the shades with a brush later on, the pigmentation looked great and there was no problem at all.

My favorite shades are the third of the upper row, which is a brown color with a purple/bordeaux undertone, and the fourth of the second row, which is a white beige color.

Swatches below ( Click on the pictures for a closer view!)

I have created a look today using the eyeshadow palette and the lip lust.
From the shades I used: the third and firth of the upper row and the first and the fourth of the second row.

I have to say I am pretty pleased with the results and the products.

Also the service at Luxbeauties is super, so for the Belgian girls who are interested in cosmetics, pay them a visit!
Plus: they ship all over Europe!

Where did  I buy these products?

Price?
eyeshadow palette Earth Child: 5€
Lip lust in Date Night: 3,99€

Hey ladies!

Yesterday I paid my weekly visit to one of my favorite shops here in Belgium, namely Kruidvat.

Last week I noticed the new Limited Edition of Catrice Cosmetics was available but had already, pretty much, been plundered.

I did get my hands on the Cream Brush in the shade: Discreet Artist, which is the lightest of the 3 colors available. The blushes were already the product of this limited edition that interested me the most so I was pleased I got one of the blushes to try out.
The three shades carry the following names:

Light pink: Dicreet Artist
Pink: Picked Cherry Blossoms
Red: Madam Butterfly
Before I could start testing it out, I did not really know what the best way is to apply cream blush. I tried with my blush brush, which turned out to be a bad choice.

I have discovered that for me the best way to blend the blush well is to apply it with 2 clean(!) fingers. I use my index finger and my middle finger and gently pat the blush onto my cheek.

If you apply too much or have a hard time blending things out evenly, you can use a beauty blender or a make-up sponge to take off the excess or to blend things out.

In the video I added at the end of this article you can see one of my favorite make-up guru's talk about applying cream blush.

I love the color of Discreet Artist, because it gives a healthy but yet subtle flush to the cheeks. The other two shades are too bright in my opinion but I guess if you dose it right, it can look pretty as well.
I'm absolutely in love with this blush and I have been wearing every day this week and I have a feeling it will stay my favorite blush for quite some time.
Yesterday I paid my weekly visit to Kruidvat in another establishment than the one I usually go to and to my surprise they still had a few items of this Limited Edition, so I grabbed me another Discreet Artist!

If you don't know how to apply the blush right from the first time, don't give up! After a few times it will come natural. The video below might help!
Where can I find these blushes?
You can temporarily find them in establishments of Kruidvat in Belgium, The Netherlands.

Price?
3,99€

Hey girls!

Today I want to share with you a product with a mysterious touch: Magic Lipstick!

I had seen these lipsticks when I was younger but did not understand who would wear green lipstick so I never tried them.

Last year when I was in Egypt with the hubbie I rediscovered them but yet again did not buy it cause I did not know its usage.

A few weeks ago, I went to my usual henna supplier and his shop is just amazing. I have to try hard not to buy everything he sells cause I love it all!
So i was browsing the hair oils, shampoos, miswaak, khol, henna, ... and I discovered they also sold the magic lipstick! And for 1€ so I could no longer resist.
Picture
The shop only sells the green lipstick and I have only discovered now, by surfing the net for more information, that there are actually a number of different colors such as blue, purple, orange and green. Each with their own magical effect.

As i have mentioned before, I have the green lipstick.

When I apply it, it turns my lips very pink as you can see in the before and after picture down below.

                BEFORE                                                    AFTER
I think this pink is a little too bright for me, since I usually wear more neutral or red shades on my lips but I do like it has this 'magical' effect.

Another remark I have to make is that the lipstick will have a slightly different effect on everybody since not every has the same natural lip color.

                        +
- Nice product

- Cute packaging

- Pretty colors

- Stays on lips for a long time

- Price: 1€
                       -
- Hard to remove (if you don't like the color, etc)

- I only found the green lipstick until now.

- Packaging does not close well (maybe I just grabbed one with the problem, so can't say this is true for all of the lipstick.)

For 1€, I am definitely pleased with this product but I would to try out the other shades as well especially the more neutral shades and the red one cause those colors suit me better.

Picture
I have bought mine in a local shop for 1€ but if you go on holiday to Morocco, Egypt, etc  I'm sure you can find it even cheaper.

For the girls, who can't wait to try it out: The lipstick is also available online
(at a higher price), in the following
web shops:

Would you girls try this product?

Do you know where to find the other shades?

Xoxo, Leyla

Hello everyone!
I have decided to continue my blog in English since this widens my audience.

Today I wanted to share a great idea to store lipsticks, eyeshadows and other make-up goodies by using a simple and cheap item: a box to store teabags.
I had been looking for a long time for a new way to store my make-up stash. Because I have a lot of different products, I sometimes forget everything I own and end up using the same products every day.

When I saw these tea boxes, I got an idea. I whipped out my lipstick of the day and held it next to the box to realize it would fit perfectly inside.

I bought 3 boxes ( and 2 more later on), because I'm just in love with them! I have one for my single eyeshadows and pigments, one for my lipsticks and one for my blushes.

Now I use different products every day because the see-through box lets me see all the pretty thing I have at my disposal.
Another way to use this kind of box for storage is to take of the lid and just stash your goodies in there as a quick make-up organizer with those products that you use every day.
Where can I find these boxes?
I bought them in a shop called Action but I think boxes like this are available from many department stores.

Price: I paid 1,89€ per box

What do you think of this DIY? Do you have other ideas?

Hello everyone!

I'm not usually someone who uses many hair products other than shampoo, for example : I don't even use conditioner or hairspray but the product I want to share with you guys is just amazing! It blew me away!

My mother was cleaning out her bathroom cabinet when she rediscovered this product: the metamorphose relaxx total repair spray.
She had bought this product from her hairdresser but had actually never used it. So I ended up getting it (yay, free stuff!). I did not really have high expectations because as I said: I don't really use many products on my hair... until the first time i sprayed it onto my hair... wauw!

My hair immediately became super soft and my fingers just glided through my locks. My hair was instantly untangled and the product has a delicious smell.

Online I found the following description of the product:

"2-Fase haircare system for dry, permed and natural hair.
The hair becomes easy to comb and regains its softness and shine.
Shake well before use and spray onto wet or towel dry hair.
      Don't rinse. 150ml."

I usually spray this product on towel dry hair and only on the lengths of my locks and especially the ends. I never spray it onto my scalp because my hair easily starts feeling greasy and heavy.

I have been using the de metamorphose relaxx total repair spray for a few months now and I just love it! Since I have started using it, my hair looks more healthy, it feels super soft and I have more than once received compliments that my hair is so shine and healthy.

I can't say with a 100% certainty it is all thanks to this product because I have since a year I have started a completely new hair care system:
I only color my hair with natural henna, oil my hair at least once a week and try to stay away from heated tools such as hairdryers and flattening irons.
My spray is half empty, so I am already looking where to buy my new bottle.

People who struggle with broken ends or damaged hair should really try out this product. My hair ends used to be split and I always had the feeling my hair does not want to grow, but lately my hair has been growing amazingly and my end look healthy so I am a believer!

Where can I find this product?
You can ask your hairdresser about it or go to a hairdressers supply store. It's also available online on a number of webshops as are the shampoo, conditioner, etc of this range. (The bottles look pretty much identical so if you want to be sure you have the 2-fase spray, pay good attention!)

Price?
On my mother's bottle I found a price ticket with 11€ on it but I have seen it on a number of online stores with price tages of 6,50€ to 8,50€ (watch out: transportations fees will probably be added).
I think you will get a better price searching online or visiting a whole sale hairdresser supplies store than when you actually buy it from your hairdresser, even though it's definitely worth the money!

Would you guys try out this product? Do you have any other hair care products you love?

Xoxo, Leyla
